Thank you for your interest in business opportunities in the U.S. Territories and Freely Associated States!
We invite you to take a few minutes to explore the many resources available on this site, which was developed as part of an ongoing initiative of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs to support economic development in the insular areas. It is intended to support both mainland investors and island partners in the development of win-win business opportunities in all the islands.
On this site you will find online networking tools, reports on each island, compiled by OIA's Island Fellows Program. You will also find links to government agencies that support business development (as well as other organizations in the islands and in the fifty states), and presentations and other reference materials from the Conferences and trade missions that the Department of the Interior has sponsored.
The Conference and Missions were designed to provide an opportunity for potential partners from the islands and the mainland to meet, network, and forge new partnerships to make the most of win-win business opportunities. Many of these organizations is pursuing at least one new business venture in one of the jurisdictions that they visited, and our follow-up is ongoing. Now we hope to see some of those connections mature and bear fruit. This website is one tool that will be available to assist in this effort.
This effort is a work-in-progress. We are always interested in your comments on these tools and our other efforts, and would welcome any suggestions you may have. Please send any and all inquiries to info@islandbusinessopportunities.com.
A final note - the Department of Interior cannot endorse any organization, project, or opportunity; our role in this effort is as facilitators only. You must perform your own research and due diligence before entering into any partnership.
Thank you again for your interest. We look forward to continuing to work with you to help you find win-win opportunities in the islands.
